The Reform UK leader Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
