The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of Casimir.
