The Gangster Drama Preparing to Make a Comeback with a New Era on the Small Screen

The hit crime drama is returning to television to chronicle the endeavors of a fresh wave of the Shelby family following WWII.

The final broadcast season, which was broadcast in two years ago, was described as the "final chapter of a saga", even though producers did mention the narrative would "progress in a new way".

A soon-to-be-released feature film, taking place at the beginning of WWII, will showcase the acclaimed actor stepping back into his part as gang leader the central character.

That movie will now be followed by another two seasons, which "will take place in the English city and will depict the story of a metropolis rebuilding of the wartime bombings", writer the mastermind commented. "The next wave of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride."

The show will begin in 1953, when "the competition for the city's huge rebuilding effort becomes a intense rivalry of mythical dimension", according to reports.

The show will be screened on the BBC in the Britain and on a streaming service internationally.

The lead actor will be one of the executive producers, while it was not revealed whether familiar faces from the previous era would return on screen.

The show premiered in several years back, and has so far followed the underworld group through the early 20th century. It was awarded top drama series at the British television awards in recently.

The plot will shift to the World War II era for the movie, named The Immortal Man, which will star the lead actor alongside acclaimed actor Barry Keoghan, Adolescence actor Stephen Graham and the sci-fi star Rebecca Ferguson.
