Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
