The United Kingdom is ready to advance with utilizing the full worth of seized Russia's assets to support Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this joint measure would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They clarified that the move would be carried out in tight collaboration with the US.

British sanctions have blocked over £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia initiated its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, resources provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had solely been taken from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward utilizing the full value of the seized Russian sovereign holdings to conclude the conflict.

He stated that additional measures in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This declaration is subsequent to European Union leaders convened in Copenhagen last week to discuss employing frozen Russian holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump encouraged G7 allies to seize or utilize immobilized Russian assets, based on news outlets.

The total of seized Russian holdings in the EU is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

President Zelensky urges UK's Sir Keir Starmer to join the PURL program

Russia executed extensive bombardments throughout Ukraine on recently, causing electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the strike, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a update on an online platform subsequent to the strike, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike aimed at non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not just talk but concrete steps - from the America, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in supplying anti-aircraft weapons and applying restrictions," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky told reporters he would press Sir Keir to enter the Purl program, under which alliance members buy military equipment from the America to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the United Kingdom's firm backing for Kyiv, he said it should send a clear signal that it would engage in the program, as well as impose additional restrictions on the Russian Federation.
